This project is a result of a collaboration between a group of students from UPC and Seat, the biggest carmaker in Spain. It focuses on shared transport, its’ socialisation and implementation in society.

M3A is an App made to help users with their mobility and being able to socialise while doing so. It’s based on social networking where users can create groups with other users to be able to travel by sharing transport vehicles and save costs. In addition, users can also attend events, for which their organisers can create specific groups and thus enable them to get in touch with other attendees to find the best mobility option.

Process

New social mobilities

The goal behind the app is to enable users to have a deeper interaction with the app, so they could not only use it to pick a driver and go to any place, but also plan their agenda and their car-sharing experiences with people they share interest with, therefore adding a social interaction to the app.

User flows

The first step into designing the app was to elaborate user flows based on the main functionalities the app was supposed to offer. User flows diagrams are a useful tool for prototyping as it helps us understand the different actions users do to accomplish one task.

Prototyping

After the user flows were designed, we moved on to the prototyping phase. The software we used for this was Axure, a powerful tool that allows to produce advanced prototypes with simulated functionality. It also offers the possibility to share it on the cloud and visualise your prototype through web browsers or your own phone. This enables us to test the app in a more realistic context as we have a high fidelity interaction.
