I’ve always had an interest in technology and design, but it wasn’t until I learned about Human Computer Interaction that I became fully invested in understanding the different layers that intervene when people use technology. Once I understood HCI I moved on to learn about usability in websites and phone applications which ultimately led me to become a user experience designer.

As a UX designer I enjoy both the research and design process; from learning about the user’s characteristics, their needs and context, to making prototypes. I consider myself a reasonable and approachable person, which enables me to smoothly fit in multidisciplinary teams and also connect with potential users during the research and testing phases.

During my undergrad, I learnt about different disciplines that aim to create visual content such as graphic design, motion graphics and photography. I also picked up the basics of coding during my studies.

My MA in User Experience Design has expanded my vision of design and what it can achieve. Initially, this was just interfaces but now I understand the impact and significance of everything designers create and release. When we design something it should be reviewed at different stages as outside factors and user's needs evolve. Ideally, the people I work with will be as interested as I am in designing to mitigate the current climate crisis and the social inequalities perpetuated through technology.
